The Visionary: Lillian Waithira Ikuro
Every great movement begins with a single step of compassion. For Lillian Foundation, that step was taken in 2002 by Lillian Waithira Ikuro, a woman whose heart overflowed with love for children in need.
"I saw children sleeping on the streets of Nairobi, their eyes filled with fear instead of dreams. I knew I couldn't change the world, but I could change the world for one child at a time. That became our mission."
A trained social worker and mother of three, Lillian began by opening her own home to five orphaned children. What started as a personal mission quickly grew into a community movement as neighbors and local businesses witnessed the transformative power of her work.
